Hoshedar’s Career Story
Hoshedar Batliwalla found his passion in the tourism industry. He started off as the assistant manager of a restaurant in India, before moving up to manager and eventually pre-opening three luxury, five-star restaurants for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The part of his work he loves most has always been helping his employees develop their skills—that’s why the move to tourism education made so much sense for him.
Today, he gives his students the tools they need to thrive in their own tourism careers. As a Professor and Program Coordinator at Centennial College, Hoshedar’s goal is to create a safe space for students to learn and make mistakes. He’s preparing them for rewarding careers working in the tourism industry, using his own experience to inform his lessons.
